Working with the Firewall

Getting to the Firewall configuration:

  1. Log in to your control panel.
  2. Click the “Administration” tab.

  3. Click on your VDC name.

  4. Click the “Edge Gateways” tab.

  5. Right click on the Edge Gateway instance.

  6. Click on “Edge Gateway Services…”.

  7. Click on the “Firewall” tab.

Adding Rules:

  1. Click the “Add…” button.

  2. Add the name of the rule into the “Name” field.

  3. Add the source to the “Source” field. This can be an IP, CIDR, IP Range, “internal”, “external” or “any”

  4. Select or add a source port in the “Source port” drop down. You can type in this field.

  5. Add the destination to the “Destination” field.┬áThis can be an IP, CIDR, IP Range, “internal”, “external” or “any”

  6. Select or add a destination port in the “Destination port” drop down. You can type in this field.

  7. Select the protocol in the “Protocol” drop down.

  8. Select the action from the “Action” radio buttons.

  9. Click the “OK” button.

  10. If the rule you created needs to run before another rule, you can click and drag it on top of that rule in the rules list window.

Editing Rules:

  1. Right click on the rule you want to edit.
  2. Click edit.

Removing Rules:

  1. Right click on the rule you want to delete.
  2. Click delete.
